As you are reading this blog post I am in Iceland preparing for the first of four seminars. I am so honored to be here in Iceland and meeting such wonderful people. It didn’t happen by chance.
A long time ago I worked very hard to put myself in the situation I am in today. I studied, researched, tried and tested, and kept learning the methods that make my athletes successful. I worked hard. But because I did, I am in a position where I get to travel and speak to so many people across the nation and all around the world.
You can make it happen as well. I spent roughly 12 years in the trenches training and coaching before I was ever exposed to the possibilities. I never knew I could create DVDs and books, present at seminars, and write articles for thousands of people. I would have never had the chance if I didn’t lay the foundation.
Today, the Internet allows anyone to create products and sell them. The problem is it becomes limited because eventually they will have to face the music and if they have not done the work they will get called on it. When I speak on stage I am sharing the methods I have taught for more than 20 years. I can answer questions. I can help people who don’t understand. I am not just trying to sell a product. It is about helping and changing lives. You can’t do that if you don’t do the work and learn.
The great thing is you are in complete control. I am in Iceland right now because I worked hard for many years. People wanted me to create a live seminar so they could come and learn my information. So I did. One of the attendees at my live seminar was from Iceland. We made a connection and the rest is history. It would have not happened if I had not made it happen.
Sit down right now. Write down your goals. Make them big and exciting. Don’t worry about how it will happen. Just plan out what you want to be good at. Start each day by learning more and more about your trade. Get good, REAL GOOD! Next, get yourself in front of people. Take the feedback and keep building. The next thing you know you are doing exactly what you set out to do.
You can make it happen!

Lee,
I truly enjoy reading your material. I get inspired by your work. I live in a rural area that is not/or has not been exposed to good teaching. Yet!
My training is in Physical Therapy and I have recently decided that it was time to venture out on my own and start my own clinic. I plan on doing this May 1, 2010. I also enjoy working with young kids and athletes to assist them in reaching their desired goals.
I have a million questions for a guy like you with your knowledge.
The key question I have for you is what program of yours would you recommend to advance my knowledge base to create programs for kids 8-20 years of age?
I am also the assistant basketball coach at one of the local high schools. Which basketball DVD would you recommend?
I also follow the IYCA and I know that they have good information as well.
Thanks for your willingness to share.
Enjoy your time in Iceland.
Brad
Hey Lee,
Thanks for the motivation. I like to think I am right about where you were at 12 years ago. This is great insight and WRITING down your goals is hugely important. I’ve been in the industry a couple years and just beginning to see where I’d like to be 10 years from now. Writing it down as we “type.” Thanks!
Great post Lee! I enjoy your motivation on the topic of putting in the work. Staying true to your passions and up on your teaching, learning and practice are what it’s all about.
Another great motivational post Lee. Putting in the time and effort makes huge dividends.
It becomes easier once you see that you are achieving the massive goals you set for yourself.
Great post Lee. I have recently become an apprentice instructor in my union (over 1,000 members). I am also a soccer and basketball coach and I help our soccer club with speed and agility training once a week. Watching some of you DVD’s and reading your blogs has inspired me to be better coach and more important a better person. Thanks Lee
Lee,
Very well put! I too have worked hard for over 22 years but yet have not had the opportunities you and some of the others have had. How do these opportunities present themselves? Do they just happen?
Thanks,

After receiving my cert in Youth Fitness from the IYCA I took their Speed & Agility course taught by Lee. I was so impressed that I ordered the Ground Breaking 2 DVDs (excellent stuff). What Lee is putting out here is a part of the Process Of Manifestation; Thoughts backed by passionate Feelings lead you to take Action which create your results. I live by this and, yes, it works and my BIG goals just came to pass. Just as I was ready to start my Sports Training company a I contacted a local facility. They are a 50,000 SF facility with 4 courts, fitness center, power lifting room, group fitness room, outdoor multi use field and more. After meeting with the GM my company was hired as the exclusive training company in charge of all aspects of sports training and athletic development. Not bad for a start up.
Thank you Lee for what you do and how you do it.

I can’t thank all of you enough for the kind comments. I get so motivated by you!
Opportunities are all around us- what makes us see them is our mindset toward being prepared everyday and knowing to look for them. I can look at situations now and see all the possibilities as where even 10 years ago i missed them. Now i am prepared and looking- so they appear.
Be Great!
