Boy, oh Boy! I really want to slap myself sometimes. You know how I am with my writing skills. I simply don’t pay attention and just write. I don’t always pay attention to my spelling or words. Well, last week I posted a blog about my nephew, Jimmer Fredette and his great performances this year (especially his big 49 point performance against Arizona).

When I write my blog post it is super fast and I don’t pay attention to my spelling.  I made the mistake and typed Oscar Robinson instead of Robertson. I want to apologize for that mistake, especially since Oscar and I go way back. Did you know that when I use to play ball with him in the parks growing up I would talk to him about focusing on triple doubles…well, he argued with me and just wanted to be a scorer. The rest is history.

OK- you know I’m kidding, right?

Any way, just wanted to make sure I didn’t disrespect a fellow hoopster.

On another note, I just returned back from Orlando. I spoke at the NSCA Sports Specific Training conference and it was a great time. I love meeting up with old friends and making new friends.

I have to tell you, I loved the presentations I got to see. There were some awesome speakers.

I loved Patrick McHenry and his high school PE curriculum for fitness and sports performance. His presentation was really well organized and top notch information. What I like about him is he makes his students fully accountable for their results. Great job

Another presentation that was fantastic was presented by Pete Bommarito. He spoke about specific development for running backs. Pete showed many specific drills to enhance speed, agility, quickly and especially cutting. I really enjoyed it!

I attended several others presentations…Mark Roozen spoke about multi-directional training and David Donatucci spoke on Longer Term Athletic Development for Youth. They were great as well. I wished I could have attended more sessions, but between networking and trying to get some needed work completed I wasn’t able to.

The NSCA did a fantastic job and I look forward to being involved with future conferences.
