Lee,
Great post! I fully agree with your statement(s).
You did say you moved the squat racks out not OUT correct?
Because if you quit using them aren't you limiting yourself and especially your clients the benefit of being blesssed with the choice of more than just your opinion as to what's better?
I believe that we as motivators providing guidance should let all of our clients know that they should build their own facility! It's not that tough. I have been training as an athlete for almost 50 years (will be 60 this Dec. 30, 09) and have never worked in any type of "commercial" facility. I have made a lot of my own equipment, have purchased used equipment, and saved for those tools (kettlebells, med balls, etc.)to outfit myself with a variety of training tools/modes.
Several of my clients have taken my direction and have set up their own "Garage Gyms" and seek my counsel and/or internet, etc. to receive information needed. They are all very successful athletes, by the way.
Repeating what I said at the beginning of this rant, I really enjoy your guidance and direction, as I do with several others (i.e. Zach Even-Esh, Elliot Hulse, etc.). So thank you and keep the great stuff coming.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours.
